Deccom G5 Swimming

This is my first week using a CGM and I went swimming with my son today at the lake. We were in the water a couple hours so I know it didn’t get any readings. It’s been 5 hours and although the mobile app is now displaying readings it is not even close to my meter… 100 points off. Anyone had any similar experiences? Any advice? It’s only been on 4 days so I would hate to switch out the sensor already! I was careful not to bump it, etc.

Hi Tarsha,

I swim three or four days a week with a G5. I have found that the G5 will catch up with my meter a half an hour after swimming. Usually, my sugar levels have dropped 50-100 points. I think you have an outlier rather than a normal situation.

Have you tried recalibration?? You can calibrate the G5 even when it doesn’t prompt you!

On amazon they have patches called “sim patch” that are waterproof and help with the adhesive hold while you are in the water!!! I use them regardless if I’m in the water or not just as an added protection!!
