Diabetic Ketoacidosis: myths, tips, and lesser known facts

(Dennis J. Dacey, PWD) #1

I’d like to share with you an article I received this morning in an email from Doctor Steven Ponder, a pediatric endocrinologist for the past 35 years who has lived with his own T1D for more than 50 years; he suggests that we share this widely. I also note that it is posted on his “Sugar Surfing” website.
Dr. Ponder was a featured speaker last December at the JDRF TypeOneNation Summit in Tampa Florida.

Several of the “myths” Dr. Ponder mentions, and diabetes management skills, are matters that I’ve tried to explain here - but Dr. Ponder saus things better than I.
