Mommies and Daddies

(mamacolby) #1

My son is three and a half and just the last few days has been saying things like, "I doesn't have dwiabeetees!," or, "Mommy I don't want to have dwiabeetees!"  I think it may have finally "dawned" on him that things are a little different.  All I can tell him is that I do not want him to have diabetes either, but he does.  I also try to tell him that it is inside his body and mommy cannot do a lot about it (except test, insulin, and diet of course).

So did any of you mommies and daddies go through this?  If so, besides breaking your heart, what did/have you told your children to help them cope?

Thank you and take care!
