Sodas

Don't drink sodas guys...even diet sodas are bad for you...They make your kidneys work harder then needed...

I have been drinking only water for 4 years now and I not only feel better and can run longer/lift harder and don't have lower back pains or pay atleast 5$ a day drinking sodas...

Not only is my family saving about 1,000$ a year from me not drinking sodas but rather fountain water and house water.  It also helps my teeth not get stained from all the chemicals and substances they put to make the artificial flavor in sodas...  Plus my kidneys are not as likely to fail and cause me to have kidney dialysis or a transplant..

*FUN FACT*  Your kidneys filter 200 liters of water every day...

I love soda but hey I'll willing to give it up for better health. I'm gonna start drinking water tomorrow.

A few days ago I went to see a dentist. She asked me if I drink diet soda. My answer was, " I only drink diet pop (5-8 cans a day, sometimes more) and apple juice (breakfast only) everyday". She told me that my teeth are showing signs of damage caused by the acid in diet pop. She suggested that I need to cut out the soda and drink Iced tea with artificial sweetener or water. She said to only chew gum with Xylitol in it, I guess it helps protect the health of your teeth. Plus I now have to use a prescription toothpaste to help protect my teeth also. I will add I brush my teeth 2 times a day, use listerine and floss but I still have some issues from the pop. I don't think I will cut soda out compltely but I will seriously cut back on how much I am consuming.

I drink diet coke like no other. That and coffee. Not to mention cigarettes. It hasn't caught up with me yet but im sure it will.

oh i almost forgot. The new sobe lifewater is soo good. it is made with a natural sweetner and has 0 calories, but the carbs can add up, even on the 0 calorie.

I like that soda-meets-Crystal-Light drink, Ice. I had it at camp when we got them off ADA quite frequently, but I've yet to find it in stores :(

Are you talking about the Talking Rain Sparkling Ice stuff? If so, you can get it at Costco in big packs. I love that stuff. (=

Could be :) It was an orange can. But I'll definately make a point of going to Costco and see if I can find it :)

I stopped smoking cloves yesterday. Easy, no problem. I made a decision and stuck to it, however I could never, and will never stop drinking Diet Pepsi. I tried once and I had the worst headaches. I am physically addicted to Diet Pepsi. No physical withdrawl from cloves at all. Makes me wonder which one is really not the best for me.

it's hard at first, but once you get past the two week point the headaches will stop. i've been there..but before i gave drinking it all the time up, i was watering it down! after two weeks, i stopped craving it and now i rarely drink it unless i have no other choice.

wow, I never considered diluting my soda, that might work for me.

(cdavid1) #17

I recommend replacing your soda drinking with Fuze. They have low carb ones as well! I don't really like all the flavors that they have but most of them are good. You can get variety packs at places like Sam's Club and Price Club.

(liwaenahari) #18

Yeah, I don't drink much, if any soda. It doesn't mesh well with the idea of being healthy....

PROTIP: If you're going to drink soda, drink light sodas (Sprite, 7UP, Sierra Mist, etc.), Dr. Pepper, or authentic Root Beer. Colas and diet drinks are the acidic ones, and contain all the glues and peptides that screw up your teeth and liver and kidneys.

yeah i had been drinking diet coke for so long that by the time i was 3months into my highschool job at mcdicks..i couldn't handle the taste anymore and actually got more headaches from it and it made me feel really full and gross. i started doing half water half pop when i took my free drink at work, and even at home. it seems weird to other people..but it made the taste less intense so i could drink it. i ended up giving it up anyways last year though but had been diluting it for years. i don't do that all the time now but when i am able to i will because i still feel sick if i dont haha.
