Your Pumps Name

(meme) #1

I never knew pumps were given names before coming on here--I think it is a great idea !

I normally name everything, but my meter?  and my pump?  I'm sad they haven't come alive for me yet... once I determine their personalities I'll let you know.

Murph is what I usually refer to my pump as. I think that is his normal name. Granted sometimes names change. At 5:45 this morning when I had to change my set I can't say some of the names I was muttering at my infusion set and pump. :-x

oooooooooooo...i'm starting to think she's a Josie.  but i'll give her a little more time...

does anyone have a name for their cgms too?

(BrianPQuinn) #5

Josie as in the Pussycats??

And my CGM I never named, but probably Beepy. I only tend to respond to her when she does that. Maybe Nag??? No. Beepy it is.

(since030993) #6

definately as in the Pussycats!

i like nag for the cgms.  you keep beepy and i'll name mine naggie (like maggie, but not!)

(BrianPQuinn) #7

Nice. Now I am complete. Just be careful, one day you will be wandering your room yelling Naggie, Josie, where are you hiding?? Don't play games with me now.

Have you ever had that happen when you're sleeping and you wake up in the morning and you can't find your pump?  that happened to me for the second time in six years a few weeks back....my sugars were like 3-400 that day...eep!

I don't normally misplace or think I misplace Murph. Although a few weeks back the topic of forgetting what side your pump is on came up. And that has happened a few times.

I usually call mine Junior. I started out calling in my box, because that's what my little brother called it, but someone's "box" can be taken a few different ways.

Mine was Rex, but my latest is Rocco :P

(BrianPQuinn) #17

What's the story behind Rocco? I don't remember that being on the original list of choices we had hinted at for you.

(Anonymous) #18

It's not, that's the weird part. But whatever posessed my family the first week I had a new pump decided this one is "Rocco." To be honest I don't even know where that came up in conversation, but everyone just started saying "Rocco" and they wanted it to stick. Oh well. :P

(BrianPQuinn) #19

Lol, so you caved to the peer pressure of your family? But hey just attribute the name to Rocco from Rocco's Modern Life and not some old Italian man.

(Anonymous) #20

LOL will-do. Yes, I caved. I tend to do that when they hold power over all things good... I don't beg to differ with my parents :P Last time I did, I was grounded from Juvenation LOL
